In 1902 the first generation of the SHUN-ZAN SCHOOL was so impressed by the NISHIURA style of pottery that they wanted to reproduce in the same style.

After many approaches they were able to do so and could create the SHUN-ZAN style.

Therefore the SHUN-ZAN SCHOOL continued to produce in this style over 100 years involving 4 generations.

Each generation was very much loved and admired by many people.

The tradional Spray Painting Technique was strictly kept and was brought over to our present time.

Not only for the generations of now, but also for the generations of the future, this amazing technique with the wonderful colours have to be maintained.

The designer WATANABE KAORU is working now on a new brand, called MINO,50’S by using the unique technique of her ancestors embracing the future.
